Pablo Picasso famously claimed that it took him four years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime to paint like a child. Alex Crumbie made a conscious decision not to learn how to draw like Raphael and instead embrace a child-like artistic style, which has saved Alex Crumbie a great deal of time and effort.

Through childlike poems and short stories, Alex explores complex ideas and concepts. This meeting of low and high-brow results in work that is a perfect synthesis of the two: brow. His writings, accessible yet stimulating, have been described as cunning wolves donning the clothing of simple sheep.
